Toddlerhood is one of the most dynamic seasons of childhood and absolutely one of the most demanding for parents. Between the language explosion, the big emotions, the relentless curiosity, and the word "no," it can feel like you blinked and your baby became a whole person with opinions. We love this stage.
Our toddler program in downtown Boise is designed for children ages 1 to 2.5 years who are ready to explore the world with support, structure, and a whole lot of hands-on play. We keep our groups small so every child is known, encouraged, and never rushed. Our caregivers are trained in toddler development and emotional regulation, which means they know how to meet a two-year-old where they are, even on the hard days.
And because we sit in the heart of Boise, our toddlers don't just explore their classroom, they explore their city. Walks along the Boise Greenbelt, visits to the Grove fountain, and library visits are woven into the weekly schedule, helping your child grow into a curious, confident urban kiddo.
What Your Toddler Will Explore
Every toddler arrives with their own pace, personality, and spark. Our program meets all of them, building the skills that matter most in the first years of life.
Independence and self-help skills: Pouring their own water, putting on shoes, cleaning up after meals are all small moments that build enormous confidence.
Language and communication: Rich vocabulary exposure through books, songs, storytelling, and narrated daily routines. We talk with toddlers, not at them.
Gross and fine motor development: Climbing, running, digging, painting, tearing, stacking: the full physical curriculum of the toddler years, indoors and out.
Social-emotional learning: Learning to take turns, name feelings, navigate conflict, and learning to be a friend, all with patient adults nearby.
Creative exploration: Open-ended art, sensory play, building, and imaginative play with natural and open-ended materials inspired by Scandinavian design principles.
Urban adventures: Weekly outings in downtown Boise that build spatial awareness, community connection, and the kind of confidence that only comes from exploring the real world.

Full-time care, Monday through Friday, 8:00am–5:15pm

Our toddler room serves children approximately 1 to 2.5 years. Transitions between rooms are based on developmental readiness — not just birthdays — so your child moves when they're truly ready.

No. Potty training is considered as part of the transition into the preschool room, not a requirement for toddler enrollment. We support families through this process with patience and communication.

Toddlers thrive on predictable rhythms. A typical day includes morning welcome and snack, circle time, outdoor time, lunch, rest, afternoon exploration, and pickup. We send daily notes home so you know how the day went.
