Created for curious kids, STRÖVA is a downtown Boise, weekly-themed summer camp designed for kids ages 5–12. Our day camps help build meaningful connections to their city, its natural spaces, and the community around them and offer a mix of creativity, outdoor play and structured activities that keep children active and engaged all summer long.

This summer, we’re stepping out of the classroom and into the heartbeat of Boise. Strova offers 11 weekly-themed, half or full-day summer camps for children in grades K-6.

Named after the Swedish word for "to roam," Strova is based out of our downtown hub at 510 S 11th St, where our campers will spend their days bridging the gap between Boise’s urban center and its natural spaces.

From the historic Basque Block to the banks of the Boise River, kids will learn what it means to be a kind urban citizen.

Our downtown hub anchors the program, while city streets, public spaces, libraries, museums, and greenways serve as our primary learning labs.

PRICING

  • Weekly Base Rate: $385.00

    Full 11-Week Season (10% off): $3,811.50 ($346/wk)

    Sibling Rate (10% off 2nd child): $346.50

  • $270 per week

  • We understand that plans change! Because our camps have limited capacity and we commit resources to staff and supplies well in advance, we adhere to the following policy:

    • Non-Refundable Fee: All registrations include a $50 non-refundable administrative fee per child, per week.

    • 60+ Days Notice: Cancellations made 60 days or more before the camp start date will receive a full refund, minus the $50 fee.

    • 30-59 Days Notice: Cancellations made between 30 and 59 days of the camp start date will receive a 50% refund of the total tuition.

    • Less than 30 Days: Cancellations made within 30 days of the camp start date are non-refundable.

    • Sick Days/Missed Days: We are unable to offer pro-rated refunds for individual days missed due to illness or personal scheduling conflicts.

A typical day at STRÖVA

No two days are the same, but each day follows a rhythm designed to balance movement, focus, and reflection.

  • Kids arrive to a cozy environment. We ease into the day with quiet invitations: building with blocks, sketching in field journals, or reading.

  • Our community kickoff. We "light" our battery candle, set our daily intention, and check our gear for the morning's trek.

  • We step out! Whether we are headed to the Greenbelt for birdwatching or the Basque Block for a history hunt, this is our peak movement time.

  • We pause at a local park or urban space. Using our portable "sit-mats," we enjoy a snack and a guided discussion about what we’ve discovered so far.

  • Action-oriented learning. This might be water testing at the river, a team-building challenge, or an "Urban Safari" scavenger hunt.

  • A shaded picnic lunch followed by "Horizontal Time,” 20 minutes of quiet cloud-watching or reading to recharge our batteries.

  • We head back to the Hub for creative work. Kids use upcycled materials or nature finds to build models, create art, or document their findings.

  • An afternoon "Little Fika." We share a light treat and listen to a story or local history legend that connects to our weekly theme.

  • Focused on Samarbete (teamwork). We play group games that emphasize resilience, good sportsmanship, and helping a friend up.

  • We reflect on our "Win of the Day" and prep our gear for tomorrow.

  • Child-led play and creative time as parents arrive.
