Our Commitment to Low Child-to-Caregiver Ratios
At Hygge Kinder House, we maintain significantly lower child-to-caregiver ratios than Idaho state requirements because we believe the state standards are too high to support the healthy development of children and the wellbeing of our caregivers.
Our Approach:
We intentionally keep our ratios well below state maximums to ensure each child receives the individual attention they deserve
Every classroom maintains a minimum of two adults at all times, fostering collaboration and safety
As children develop greater independence and self-regulation skills, ratios naturally adjust to reflect their growing autonomy
Our dedicated floater pool provides additional support during community outings to downtown Boise—our urban classroom—and during the naturally busier periods of each day
Why This Matters: Lower ratios mean more meaningful interactions, better supervision, enhanced safety, and reduced stress for both children and caregivers. This investment in staffing reflects our commitment to creating an environment where children can truly thrive and our educators can provide the quality care your family deserves.
We believe that exceptional early childhood education starts with having enough caring adults to nurture each child's unique journey.
At our center, we believe that each child grows and develops at their own unique pace. While our classrooms are generally organized by age ranges, transitions between groups are guided by developmental readiness rather than birthdays alone. We consider a child’s mobility, communication, social-emotional maturity, and potty training progress—ensuring they feel confident and supported as they move into a new learning environment. This flexible approach allows us to meet each child where they are and support their growth in the most responsive and respectful way possible.
