Position Summary
We’re seeking a warm, capable, and self-motivated School Director who is ready to roll up their sleeves and help lead our daycare center through its early growth. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of building something special from the ground up. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in early childhood education and daycare operations, as well as a collaborative leadership style and a passion for creating enriching spaces for children and staff alike.
Key Responsibilities
Lead your own classroom during the center’s early phase, modeling high-quality care and developmentally appropriate practices
Oversee day-to-day operations of the center, including scheduling, registration, compliance, and classroom oversight
Manage the intake and enrollment process with warmth, clarity, and professionalism
Hire, train, and support a team of early childhood educators, promoting a positive and inclusive team culture
Ensure compliance with all local and state childcare licensing regulations (IdahoSTARS, etc.)
Develop and implement center policies and procedures aligned with our mission and values
Build strong relationships with families, acting as a trusted point of contact and communicator
Monitor and manage the school’s budget in collaboration with ownership, ensuring responsible resource use
Support the creation of a safe, organized, and engaging learning environment
Collaborate with ownership on marketing, enrollment strategy, and community engagement
Qualifications
Minimum 2–3 years of experience in a licensed daycare or early childhood education setting
Familiarity with Idaho childcare licensing and quality standards
At least 1 year of people management experience (leading a small team, mentoring, or supervising staff)
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills; thrives in fast-paced, startup-like environments
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with families, children, and staff
Comfort with basic administrative tools (email, spreadsheets, scheduling software)
Ability to occasionally step into a teaching role when needed
CPR/First Aid certified (or willing to obtain before start date)
Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred
