Lead Educator

Compensation: $18–$20/hour, full-time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, ~40 hrs/week

Role Overview

The Lead Teacher is the classroom anchor—planning engaging, developmentally appropriate activities, partnering with families, and mentoring assistant teachers. You’ll nurture curiosity and build a safe, joyful environment where every child can thrive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement daily curriculum that supports social-emotional growth, creativity, and early academics

  • Maintain a warm, positive classroom culture and strong communication with families

  • Observe and document children’s development; adjust activities to individual needs

  • Model best practices and guide assistant teachers

  • Ensure health, safety, and licensing requirements are met

Qualifications

  • CDA, associate’s, or bachelor’s in Early Childhood Education or equivalent coursework/experience

  • Passionate about outside play and willingness to be outdoors with children for 2-3 hours/day

  • At least 1 year of lead or co-lead teaching experience in a licensed childcare setting

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

  • CPR/First Aid certification (or willing to obtain)

  • Idaho Childcare License (or willing to obtain)
